Started in 1987 as a private, nonprofit organization, EDCUtah is a public/private partnership, working with state and local government and private industry to attract and grow competitive, high-value companies and spur the development and expansion of local Utah businesses.

The Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) charter is based on Governor Herbert's commitment to economic development statewide.

The mandate for GOED is to provide rich business resources for the creation, growth and recruitment of companies to Utah and to increase tourism and film production in the state.

SCOPE: In addition to Business Plan counseling, Loan package assistance, Marketing analysis, and Feasibility studies, we have access to excellent training programs, seminars and classes. We strive, in partnership with others, to help improve the quality of life by building competitive, vibrant rural communities. This is done through community facility and housing programs, businesses and sustainable cooperatives that can prosper in the global marketplace, and leading a role in electric, telecommunications, distance learning tele-medicine and water and wastewater programs.
